Every third Saturday of November is set aside to acknowledge those who have been impacted by suicide loss. Each tragic death affects families, friends, neighbours, co-workers and whole communities.
International Day for People Impacted by Suicide Loss is about creating opportunities for dialogue. Talking about suicide in a compassionate and knowledgeable way will help to destigmatize and break down the myths that surround it. The Council believes that it is essential to give a voice to the stories and experiences of the survivors of suicide loss. Along with the profound sorrow, there are messages of hope and resilience.
